Construction Futures supports 2024 Social Enterprise NI Awards

Construction Futures were delighted to support this year’s Social Enterprise Northern Ireland Awards, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belfast on Friday 8th November.

As sponsors of the Young Person of the Year Award, Construction Futures’ Head of Strategic Development, Fionnuala McKenna, had the pleasure of presenting awards to the category winner Joey Crawford from Harry’s Place CIC and to Highly Commended winner Katie Whiteside from Madlug.

Joey Crawford began his journey at Harry's Place three years ago, starting as a volunteer eager to learn and train in catering and hospitality. With his larger-than-life personality and dedication, he has become instrumental in the café's success and now proudly holds the position of Front of House Deli Boss.

Speaking after the ceremony, Fionnuala commented that “The Social Enterprise Awards are a fantastic showcase of the amazing people and organisations working in the social enterprise sector across Northern Ireland. The outstanding calibre of nominees for the 2024 Young Person of the Year Award is a testament to the incredible young people working in social enterprises here in NI. We would like to congratulate both Joey and Katie for their phenomenal work and wish them the very best for the future!”
